
To support pioneering scientific research, the Katzen Cancer Research Center will accelerate the recruitment of top researchers and clinicians to develop innovative approaches to cancer treatment and to improve the quality of life for survivors. The Center is equipped with four infusion chairs set aside to be used specifically for cancer research.

The Katzen Cancer Research Center will bring the most up-to-date technology and treatment options to patients being served by the GW Medical Center. It also will offer patients more convenience in scheduling and receiving their cancer treatment. The Center features an “inspired by nature” organic design to create a calming, healing environment for patients receiving treatment.
The George Washington Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) wishes to express its deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Cyrus Katzen, philanthropist and co-founder of the Dr. Cyrus and Myrtle Katzen Cancer Research Center. Cyrus and Myrtle Katzen pledged $10 million in the fall of 2008 to establish a center dedicated to advancing cancer research and providing superior clinical care and education in the fight against cancer. In record time, GW designed and built a new, state-of-the-art facility that opened on February 9, 2009.
